Many of our Harmony XL cosmetic lasers are helping breast cancer survivors during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
As part of treatment, a radiation therapist often marks patients with permanent tattoos. It’s necessary to accurately target the area being treated. In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Alma Community Network is offering no-cost radiation tattoo removal to qualified* breast cancer survivors.
We’ve bragged about a few of our locations providing this service with their cosmetic laser. Today, we’d like to share another story. Val Stern, a talented aesthetic laser professional operating in Beverly Hills, California, recently met with us and had this to say about the Declare Your Freedom program:
Alma: Thanks for your time, Val. Why did you decide to participate in the Declare Your Freedom program?
Val: I thought the Declare Your Freedom project was a great idea. Like so many other people, I know someone who fought this disease and I know the impact that breast cancer can have on a person’s life. I had removed radiation tattoos in the past, so I knew how much having the procedure could benefit people. The Declare Your Freedom program gives all of us the chance to help a lot of people.
Alma: What kind of reactions do you see from patients who have the treatment?
Val: The patients are overjoyed.
A patient told me that she can now look in the mirror without being reminded of a time in her life when she wasn’t sure she had a future.
When I can give something so small and make such a huge different in someone’s life, this makes me love my work even more.
Alma: Thank you, Val. We’ll let you get back to work.

We are passionate not only about the cosmetic laser business, but the numerous people that it serves. Our motto – Well Being Through Technology – is at the heart of our day-to-day business and all of our aspirations. For that reason, we have supported various non-profit organizations around the globe. Last year we supported the National Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation; and this year we want to put our cosmetic lasers to work to do it again.
Honestly, we want as many people as possible to benefit from this program. It’s important, therefore, that you spread the word. Tell your friends, tell your coworkers and tell your patients. Ask them to do the same. Give us a Like on
